Expedition Lodge

STAY HERE!! It was such a great stay! The rooms were clean, they had good quality shampoo and towels for you. The beds were comfortable, the decor was cute but not over the top. Best thing of all was the breakfast, for a 2 star hotel I expected some coffee and toast. But no! They go all out, they had danishes, waffles, microwave breakfast sandwiches, granola bars, cereal, yogurt, muffins, hard boiled eggs, juice and milk. I’m missing a few things but you get the point! Super great breakfast for the price. The staff were all so friendly. For a dog friendly hotel the rooms were perfect! The location is great too, we were able to walk around and check out some stops before relaxing in the pool. The pool was amazing too! We didn’t have little kids with us but we felt like little kids going down the slide and jumping into the warm (for the winter it was nice) pool and hot tub. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone! And I would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff, convenient location, good price for thoughtfully decorated rooms and free breakfast. The rooms had a kind of "retro Western chic" that was clearly very intentionally and tastefully done. See my picture of the fridge and microwave that looked retro but we're definitely new (or the phone!) Little touches like the bath and body works relaxation shampoo/conditioner were nice. Beds were comfortable but not exceedingly comfortable.

We had two nights here, while visiting the National Parks on Moab's doorstep. Very pleased for the most part. Check-in was smooth. It is laid out in a motel style, so access to your room is from the outside. The room was clean and spacious. I especially liked the styling of this property... It embraced it's name and stuck to a retro theme. I was surprised to see the outdoor pool remained open (other guests were using it) even in January. The property is well situated for day trips and dining, with lots of options right there. Parking is free on site but I can imagine it would get full in peak season, albeit roadside parking looked to also be free. I've held off giving 5 stars for two reasons: 1) The water was shut off entirely due to an issue one morning, for a short spell. I understand things happen but it would have been good to notify guests. 2) The anti-slip bathmat had clearly never been cleaned under. A corner folded back while I was washing and there was significant mold build up. Again, easily overlooked but worth mentioning, as the rest of the place was spotless. There was a loud argument on-site one night too but this can happen anywhere, and I didn't get the sense that it spoke to the neighbourhood at all. When we ate out, the streets seemed peaceful and other patrons and staff seemed friendly.
